Arrivals & Warm-up Ride
Saturday, October 31
After arrival, check in, fix your bike if you've travelled with it, and do a short warm-up ride. A delightful short loop around the basecamp — we check bikes together and have our first introduction to the beautiful gravel paths of the area. A perfect opportunity to soak in the surrounding scenery and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Gorafe Desert
Sunday, November 1
A ride to remember all your life through the Gorafe Desert — the most iconic landscape of the area. Within the Granada Geopark: a stunning arid landscape of deep canyons, red clay, and extensive prehistoric dolmens. An eroded environment with dramatic, shifting colours of ochres, reds, and yellows. Part of the legendary Badlands ultradistance route.
Fin del Mundo Viewpoint
Monday, November 2
The first epic day. We explore villages surrounding Guadix where desert landscapes blend seamlessly with lush pine forests and the Sierra Nevada in the distance. A thrilling ascent to one of the most iconic points of the Badlands event — the breathtaking Fin del Mundo viewpoint, offering panoramic views across the region.
Sierra de Baza
Tuesday, November 3
A day in the big mountains of Sierra de Baza. Long and steady climbs through lush pine forests — as you ascend, be captivated by the amazing views of the surrounding desert, its unique colours and textures stretching before you. Physical challenge and serene natural beauty in equal measure.
Face Retama
Wednesday, November 4
Today's route takes us around Guadix and through the semi-desert area of Face Retama, where the church of San Torcuato stands — formed by hermitages and a subterranean monastic complex of twenty-five rooms. We pass through this ancient wasteland, observing caves used for centuries as agriculture refuges, old dwellings, and transhumance shelters.
Zújar Thermal Baths
Thursday, November 5
We climb to the Jabalcón mountain summit at 1,488m with sublime views, then descend to the natural thermal baths of Zújar — medicinal waters at around 40°C, carved by the Negratín reservoir. When the water level is low enough, these extraordinary pools are accessible: a perfect reward after the week's riding.
Departures
Friday, November 6
The camp comes to an end. A week of extraordinary cycling adventures, rich cultural experiences, and delicious food. A group transfer is included to Granada or Málaga airports. We look forward to seeing you again for more adventures in this remarkable part of the world.
